Long Train on the Racetrack

A cycle ride to Overton Bridge the starting point of "The Racetrack" the longest straight on the British rail network where new locos are speed tested. Nothing so exciting today just the traffic of a Summer's afternoon.

Planet Caravan

On the one really hot day in recent weeks I took a ride through the recently refurbished Solar System. The Sun was always far away and sure enough the nebulae thickened as the afternoon progressed and thunder rolled across the galaxy.

Foss Fields

On the last day of July I took the Little Red Bicycle for a spin up York's version of the Amazon. There were monsters, strange dark paths and endless deserted grasslands.

Close the Coalhouse Door

Sometime over the last couple of decades coal has gone from being a topic for political debate and industrial warfare to yet another element of Britain's hidden vital infrastructure. Generating a third of the UK's electricity, coal only appears in public these days from a high vantage point.

A big shoot at the Masham Steam Fair. Some interesting silvery light on the day which was sympathetic to the subjects. Along with the haze of smoke it gave a sepia tint to the day.
